Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision is a structured, confidential space in which a therapist meets regularly with an experienced clinical supervisor to reflect on their clinical work. This ensures the safety and wellbeing of clients by providing the therapist with a space to reflect on and process the emotional and psychological demands of their work, identify any unconscious responses that may be influencing the therapeutic relationship, and receive guidance on complex or challenging cases. Clinical supervision supports the therapist in deepening their clinical thinking, ethical practice, and theoretical understanding. In the UK, clinical supervision is a mandatory requirement for all HCPC-registered art psychotherapists to maintain professional standards and safeguard both the therapist and the client.
